A Facial Acupuncture Treatment begins with the client thoroughly cleansing their face with Osea products. Once on the table a softening mask is applied to the face while body needles are inserted. Fine lines on the face are threaded with tiny needles inserted with tweezers. This micropuncture causes the body to create collagen and fill the line. Lines develop from tight facial muscles. The next step is to insert regular acupuncture needles into trigger points to relieve the tension that's causing the lines. After all needles are inserted the Celluma is placed over the client's face. Celluma helps the needles work more effectively.
Facial treatments include the use of OSEA facial products. Osea uses the finest natural ingredients from Earth and Sea to create award-winning luxury skincare. Bioavailable organic seaweed extracts combined with potent, steam-distilled and cold-pressed essential oils form the base of nearly all of the products. Osea products are vegan, paraben-free, non-GMO, cruelty free and petroleum free.
Light Emitting Diode (LED) phototherapy is the application of light energy to tissue to obtain therapeutic benefits. The energy is used to improve cellular performance.Phototherapy is known for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties and has a variety of applications across many medical fields.Research has shown that phototherapy can: increase circulation, accelerate tissue repair, decrease wrinkles, decrease inflammation, improve skin tone and wrinkles, skin texture and clarity, ease muscle and joint pain, stiffness, spasm, arthritis and kill acne bacteria.
Specific wavelengths of light energy, when properly absorbed, up-regulates compromised cells. The light(photons) energy is absorbed by photo acceptors in the mitochondria and used to create adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The ATP produced then stimulates various metabolic processes which can result in the repair and regeneration of cell and tissue components. In an article, “Therapeutic Light”-by Chukuku S.Enwemeka, PT, PhD, FACSM, he wrote “other reported mechanisms of light-induced beneficial effects include modulation of prostaglandin levels, alteration of somatosensory evoked potential and nerve conduction velocity, and hyperemia of treated tissues. The resultant clinical benefits include pain relief in conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, bursitis, tendonitis, ankle sprain, and temporomandibular joint dysfunction, shoulder and neck pain, arthritis, and post-herpetic neuralgia, as well as tissue repair in cases of diabetic ulcer, venous ulcer, mouth ulcer,
fractures, tendon rupture, ligamentous, tear, torn cartilage, and nerve injury
I was venturing into the use of fillers and Botox before discovering facial acupuncture through Lise. Facial acupuncture is my special treat to myself! The process is virtually pain free, there is no down time, no bruising (I am a bruiser), and the results continue to improve. I get the added benefit of relief from sinus problems, and my TMJ symptoms have gone away. Facial acupuncture has increased self confidence in my appearance. I have scarring from adult acne, thick oily skin, large pores, uneven skin tone, saggy jaw line, with wrinkles now appearing. Agh! Non-invasive laser skin treatments were helpful in smoothing my skin, but the results are not permanent. I have a high pain threshold and the face continues to sting after pretreatment pain cream wears off from non-invasive laser treatments. In addition, there is down time unless you do not mind going out in public with a puffy, often bruised face. The best result of facial acupuncture is to hear my dermatologist remark that my face looks good.

I began receiving facial acupuncture from Lise last spring. I considered a surgical facelift but cost and recovery were prohibitive. The positive effects from facial acupuncture are astonishing. Not only did the lines around my eyes, forehead and mouth soften, but my skin is healthy and hydrated. The most significant benefit from facial acupuncture, however, was completely unexpected. It provided relief from years of suffering with migraine headaches. This was a welcome benefit and very much worth the time commitment.

Many times your practitioner will be able to treat you while you are wearing street clothes. It is helpful to wear loose fitting comfortable clothing that can be rolled up to expose your knees and elbows. Gowns are available if you are receiving a back treatment or if the clothes you are wearing impede treatment.
