Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine Practitioner's Oath
I promise to follow the way of the Great Physician. I will serve to live in harmony with nature, and teach my patients to do the same.
I will strive to maintain a clear mind and be willing to hold myself to the highest standards. It will be my duty to diagnose suffering and treat disease.
I shall look upon those who are in grief, as if I myself have been struck and I shall empathize with them deep in my heart.
Whoever suffers from disease and illness may be looked upon with contempt by people. I shall maintain an attitude of compassion, of empathy and of care. In no way shall I exhibit an attitude of rejection.
I shall treat all patients alike, whether powerful or humble, rich or poor, old or young, beautiful or ugly, resentful relatives or kind friends, nationals or foreigners, fools or wise men.
I shall not emphasize my own reputation and belittle my fellow practiioners while praising my own virtue.
Neither dangerous mountain passes, nor time of day, neither weather conditions nor hunger, thirst nor fatigue shall keep me from helping wholeheartedly.
Above all I will keep an open heart. I will not be driven by greed for material things. I understand that if I move on the correct path, I will receive great happiness as a reward.
With this oath, I shall fulfill my responsibilities and my destiny as a practitioner to each and every patient who seeks help from me, until I am no longer capable of fulfilling my obligations, or until the end of this lifetime.
